How It Works: radiograms are like telegrams but are passed via amateur radio operators (hams) via the National Traffic
System (NTS). In times of emergency, health and welfare traffic is sent in and out of affected areas.
In non-emergency times routine greetings, messages, etc. are passed back and forth. When
the message reaches the local area a ham radio operater simply picks up the telephone.
